Active Me and You: 'Together For The Communities'
Creating a community where all youths and women are safe, strong and valued.
Who We Are
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower the youth of the Kyotera District, so that they can competently claim their rightful space in the community. Through civic awareness, research, and advocacy, we hope to atone the community for sustainable development in the future.
Being a non-profit organisations, all our communal events run towards benefitting youths. For example these events mean that vulnerable youth are sent to school equipped with both school fees and the necessary materials for a better education.
We know that there is a need for change in rural communities across Uganda, which is why we strive to involve members of the community into all our work. We vow to work with the community, for the community.

What We Do: our current projects
01.
— The Red Wedding
For women and girls worldwide, menstruation is a monthly reality. Yet in many countries, people still face serious challenges when it comes to managing their periods. Myths, stigma and harmful gender norms around menstruation must be challenged, so that women and girls feel no shame about their bodies.
02.
— Feeding The Hungry
Approximately 1 US Dollar can provide a daily meal for a child at school. Nutrition has proven to be a key element to enhance good attendance and better education. In addition to the school meals, we aid other schools that cannot afford to offer a daily canteen, so that no child has to go hungry and miss out on a deserved education.
03.
— Educate a Child
We educate an array of children from all different backgrounds. Some children in our schools are orphans whilst others are from single-parent families. Additionally, many children come from vulnerable poor families, some of who are victims of HIV/AIDS. It is important that every child is considered and taken care of in the community.
04.
— Health Education Support
Health education builds student’s knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes towards and about health. Health education discusses physical, mental, emotional and social health, motivating students to improve and maintain their health, so that they can prevent disease, and reduce their susceptibility to risk.
05.
— Youth Empowerment
Youth empowerment is an important, yet often overlooked, factor within societies. Many unfortunately underestimate youths, however, we wish to empower them to become a strong future generation. We fulfil this through organising different communal activities. These events help to fight poverty, reduce high crime rate, in addition to decreasing unemployment rates amongst the youth of our community.
06.
— Give A Smile
We know that every human needs and wants to be happy, and many factors contribute to one’s unhappiness. These may include, lack of food, shelter, clean water amongst a variety of others. Therefore, at Active Me And You, we aim to fight hand-in-hand to provide human necessities, like mattresses and sanitation facilities, so no one has to go without them.
