Active Me and you (AMY), was founded and formally registered as a non-profit in 2018; however, our story truly begins in 2016 before with the remarkable life’s work of Mr Jjuuko Ronald.
Known as “Active Me and You,” Ronald Jjuuko is the driving force that led to our organization’s development.
We are proudly supporting a number of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) with access to education and livelihood support. Together, we forged a bond that enabled us to care for youth who may have otherwise fallen between the cracks.
Our dedicated sponsors have seen a number of students from impoverished backgrounds through their primary, secondary, vocational and/or their university education. In addition, we have provided safe shelter, clothing, nutritious food, improved healthcare, counselling, life-skills development and more for these young people.
In 2020, Empowerment Programs like Briquette making, Reusable sanitary pad making, Liquid soap making was initiated to empower child guardians (single mothers, primarily widowed mothers, aunties and grandmothers) by assisting them with knowledge and skills training, Income Generating Activities as well as counselling support. Investing in women has created the most significant and far-reaching impact, which is why we are now centering our efforts around this program. Empowered women give entire families the ability to thrive and strengthen the very fabric of the communities in which they live. JOIN US
We have also expanded our reach into the communities we serve through child protection advocacy, infrastructure improvements to families (including the construction of latrines in the Community to improve sanitation and doing family, youths women and girls empowerment. We understand that a sustainable path of transformation must include the child, guardian and the community.
